Villagers from Kyardan Ward-2 in the Kangyaing village tract found an unidentified large bird in Hainggyikyun Township, Ayeyawady Region, on Saturday afternoon.
The bird was first spotted by two fishermen who were out fishing at sea. They found the large bird flying between Leik Island, also known as Thameehla Island, and Mawtinson promontory. It reportedly fell down, as it was not able to fly because of its wet wings.
The unidentified bird was rescued by the fishermen and is being kept within the compound of U Win Naung, a residence in Kyardan Ward-2.
Ko Zaw Zaw, one of the two fishermen, said: “We will release the rescued bird back into the wild after it recovers fully from physical fatigue.”—Kyaw Thu Hein (Hainggyikyun)
