Foodstuffs, relief aid presented to flood victims in Loikaw, Nyaungshwe

Chief Minister of Kayah State U Zaw Myo Tin yesterday morning presented foodstuffs to flood victims accommodated at Sasana Beikman in Loikaw and inspected reconstruction of Thiri Mingala market.
After viewing distribution of foodstuffs and rice boxes for flood victims, he explained that systematic prevention could be taken in Loikaw against overflow of Bilu Creek starting from 9 September. He continued that two relief camps have been opened in Loikaw to provide necessary aid to flood victims, pledging to provide assistance for local farmers to regrow crops in the damaged farmlands.
On 14 September, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung visited the refectory of Yangon Myoma monastery in Nyaungshwe where flood victims are accommodated.
In meeting with those victims, the Chief Minister said the state government will assist in growing crops in the agriculture sector. The Chief Minister presented rice, instant noodle and foodstuffs to the flood victims and cash assistance to the rescue teams.
In meeting with staff at Nyaungshwe Health Centre, the Chief Minister pledged to supply medicines for the hospital as quickly as possible and presented cash assistance to departmental staff who participated in rescue and relief measures in the flooding.
The Chief Minister viewed round flooded areas in Nyaungshwe. At a meeting with departmental officials, he urged relevant departments to cooperate with each other in providing safe water for flood-affected people and opening schools. — Kayah State IPRD/Maung Maung Than (Tgi)/TTA
