Ford Motor Company recently announced the assembly of Ford vehicles in a newly built facility in Myanmar through a formal agreement with its local partners, RMA Group and Capital Automotive Limited.
As part of the agreement, the distributor partners will assemble both the Ford Ranger pickup truck and Ford Everest mid-size SUV in the East Dagon industrial park on the outskirts of Yangon.
Outfitted according to industry-leading standards, the plant will assemble Ford vehicles for sale in the domestic market.
With sales, servicing and spare parts facilities in Yangon and Mandalay, the presence of a local
assembly plant in Myanmar furthers Ford’s
promise to support the country’s burgeoning auto industry.
“This is another significant milestone for Ford in Myanmar, and we are excited to continue contributing to the development of the rapidly growing auto industry,” said Bagus Susanto, managing director, Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company.— GNLM
