Foreign Minister of Japan Taro Kono and his delegation arrived on a goodwill visit to Myanmar in Yangon yesterday afternoon.
The foreign minister and his delegation were welcomed at Yangon International Airport by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Strategic Studies and Training Department Director-General Daw Kay Thi Soe and ministry officials, Ambassador of Japan to Myanmar Tateshi Higuchi and other officials.
The guests then visited the Japanese Military Cemetery in the Yay Way Cemetery compound.
During the visit, the foreign minister and his delegation are scheduled to meet with State Counsellor and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The guests are also scheduled to visit Thilawa Special Economic Zone in Yangon, meet with Japanese businessmen in Myanmar in Melia Hotel and visit Maungtaw, Rakhine State.
