Myanma Radio and TV’s former staff, aged 80 and above, were presented gifts and cash at Studio A of MRTV in Yangon yesterday.
At the ceremony sponsored by the MRTV’s Former Staff Association, its patron, MRTV Director-General U Myint Htwe, delivered the welcoming message and the chairman of the association, U Myint Aung, gave a speech.
Afterwards, the patron and the chair presented gifts and cash to 33 former staffers, aged 80 and above. They also presented an award to U Thein Aung, a former MRTV employee, for winning the Motion Picture Academy Award for sound editing in a 2016 film.
Retired Director-General U Kyi Lwin and senior former staff, U Tin Maung (Ko Po Aye-Myanma Radio), expressed words of thanks. Founded in 2012, the association presented gifts to 22 senior former employees in 2012 and 26 senior ex-staffers in 2016.
