Supervisory Committee on Import, Storage and Distribution of Fuel Oil takes proper measures in accordance with the shipment plan to ensure local fuel consumption. On 22 August, six oil tankers arrived at the pilot bar of the Yangon River, and four oil tankers docked at the jetties of Thilawa Port and refilled over 70,000 tonnes of diesel and 11,000 tonnes of petrol at the storage tanks. Moreover, the committee supervises departures of bowsers to regions/states.
Due to heavy rainfalls across the nation, delays occurred in fuel oil distribution processes, and so over 1,000 bowsers distributed fuel oil to over 3,000 filling stations across the country, including about 100 fuel stations in Nay Pyi Taw while 200 in Yangon, 700 in Mandalay and 250 in Shan State (South), aiming to reduce heavy queues at the stations. Moreover, the fuel oil was distributed to the stations in need under urgent and unique plans. About three million gallons of petrol and diesel have been distributed to date. The bowsers also supplied fuel oil to the stations in time, and the sales returned to normal.
Moreover, the prices at the fuel stations declined compared to previous days, and the committee is ensuring the continuous arrival of oil tankers from abroad. — MNA/KTZH
