Fuel oil will be brought in through Kampaiti checkpoint to ensure adequate supply in Kachin State, said the Kachin State’s minister for Natural Resources, who is also chair of the Supervisory Committee on Fuel Oil Import, Storage and Distribution.
The Kachin State’s committee and importing companies discussed fuel oil import via the Kampaiti border on 13 July.
As the Kampaiti border channel has a shorter trade route, importing companies are to import fuel oil according to the monthly import quota so as not to have shortages in Kachin State. Kachin State’s government will take legal action against those involved in illegal imports.
The companies reported the import volume that they want to process at the meeting and the committee members elaborated on the import quota on fuel oil for July 2024. — ASH/KK
