According to the Mandalay Flower Market, with more supply than demand of Gandhama flowers grown in Patheingyi Township, PyinOoLwin and Nawnghkio townships, the prices of flowers have plummeted.
Many farmers in villages near Patheingyi Township are mainly engaged in growing the Gandhama flowers. Flower prices are lower than last year at present when both flowers from the mountain regions and plain regions are in the market.
One bouquet of the flower was between K3,000 and K3,500 last year. It is only K2,000 this year, according to a flower grower from Kyaukmee village, Patheingyi Township.
