Gems and Jade Emporium enters its second day

The second day of the emporium featuring raw and uncut gems and jade stones available for sale in local currency (kyats) commenced this Monday at Mani Yadana Gems Hall in Nay Pyi Taw.
Those who are permitted to exhibit the gem lots and citizen jewellery merchants appraised the jade lots from 8am to 5pm. The price bidding form for jade lots which will be sold under open tender system were put into the tender boxes concerned.
A total of 195 gem lots and 4,454 jade lots were exhibited. The emporium was reportedly packed with a teeming crowd of potential buyers. The sales with open tender system will start on 22nd March.
Union Minister U Ohn Win of the Ministry for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and officials visited the emporium yesterday afternoon to observe the displays of jade and jewellery.
