Golden umbrella to be hoisted at Shwedagon replica tooth relic pagoda

DSC06235Myawady, 19 May — Two sacred tooth relics, one diamond orb and a tiered golden umbrella arrived in Myawady, Kayin State, on 17 May, prior to their installation at Shwedagon replica tooth relic pagoda in Ward 4.
Venerable monks, local authorities and members of social and religious association conveyed the religious objects from Thingan-Nyinaung village in Kawkareik.
Chief Minister of Kayin State U Zaw Min and wife Daw Nyunt Nyunt Wai and party conveyed the sacred tooth relics, diamond orb and tiered golden umbrella to Sasana Hitakari Beikman at Shwemyinwun Pagoda.
A ceremony to enshrine the religious objects will be held at the Shwedagon replica tooth relic pagoda on 26 May and the umbrella hoisting ceremony on 30 May. Htein Lin Aung (IPRD)
