Deputy Minister for Labour U Win Shein organized a coordination meeting on the participation in ASEAN-Occupational Safety and Health Network (ASEAN-OSHNET) Awards in Yangon yesterday.
In the event, the deputy minister said the ASEAN-OSHNET Awards are for the companies with good OSH management systems and performances.
Any industry can compete for an ASEAN-OSHNET Excellent Award and only the SMEs can participate in Best Practices Award. The ministry will form an ASEAN-OSHNET Award selecting committee and the entrepreneurs will be invited via State-run newspapers to compete for the ASEAN-OSHNET Awards.
The ASEAN-OSHNET Awards are presented once every two years and it was awarded thrice in 2016, 2018 and 2021.
The deputy minister then highlighted the Excellent Awards and Best Practices Awards received by the factories of Myanmar in 2016, 2018 and 2021.
He also continued that Myanmar will host the 4th ASEAN-OSHNET Awards 2022, including the 23rd ASEAN-OSHNET Coordinating Board Meeting and the 9th ASEAN-OSHNET Conference.
He called on the business people to work together to maintain Myanmar’s ASEAN-level competitive image by winning the ASEAN-OSHNET Awards. — MNA
