Group discussion continues on successful completion of nationwide census

Discussion by groups continued yesterday morning at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-2 (MICC-2) on the occasion of the successful completion of the nationwide population and household census.
Central Statistics Organisation Assistant Director Daw Thida Htwe and U Aung Ko Win of United Nations Population Fund discussed the topic under the title “Matters on the Quality of the Census” and Athong Makuty of the Naga National Council spoke on the topic in a discussion titled “Matters on Cooperation.”
Difficulties and challenges faced, opportunities, experiences and lessons learnt, suggestion on future works, processes to be drawn and finding ways to overcome difficulties were discussed by attendees.
Situations encountered during the population and household census 2014, the importance of youth, obtaining of news and information, practical usefulness, importance of the health sector and other sectors were discussed by of Medical Research Department’s Director-General Dr. Kyaw Zin Thant and U Salai Pi Pi @ Salai Wunzapyaung of Chin Nationals Supporting Committee, U Min Zarni Lin of the Socio-Economic Development Group, Executive Director Daw Khin Thet Maw of Social Vision Services and Director Daw Sandar Thant of Socio-Economic Gender Resource Institute joined the discussion.
Afterwards, Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population Permanent Secretary U Myint Kyaing explained future work processes to be conducted based on data and information collected from the census.
