Hanthawady United beat GFA 10-0 in MNL Week 5

The first day of the 2022 Myanmar National League Week 5 continued on 23 July at Thuwunna Stadium, where Hanthawady United beat GFA with a big score of 10-0.
Hanthawady United, which lost consecutive three-game, regained victory with a sweet victory. Due to the result of this match, they were able to put pressure on the teams at the top of the table. The GFA team won the first match in Week 4, but in this match, they faced a big loss.
Both teams started with a full set of core players, and the Hanthawady team started attacking from the start of the game to regain the win. In the eighth minute of the match, the Hanthawady team broke the deadlock, with a goal scored by Soe Kyaw Kyaw. After scoring the goal, Hanthawady continued to dominate the game and scored four more goals in the first half.
Khun Kyaw Zin Thein scored the second two goals at 12 and 17 minutes, Soe Kyaw Kyaw at 20 minutes and Ye Lin Htet at 29 minutes.
Although the Hanthawady team won by five goals in the first half, they tried to score more goals without switching to defensive play. Winning goals for Hanthawady were scored by Aung Myat Thu at 47, 50, and 59 minutes, Soe Kyaw Kyaw at 51 minutes, and Nyi Nyi Aung at 81 minutes.
The GFA team was unable to score a single goal and the defence allowed 10 goals.
After playing five games, the Hanthawady team has seven points while the GFA team has three points. The second-day match of Week 5 will continue today and the Yangon team will play against Maha United. —Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
