According to writer Hein Latt, his two new books, titled ‘Myanmar Pyaw Thaw Myanmar Sakar’ (Myanmar Spoken by Myanmar People) and ‘Laukmanya Tiluk’, were introduced at The Lantern House in Botahtaung Township, Yangon, on 25 August.
The book launch was attended by fellow writers Maung Yint Mar (Kyauggon), Maung Thway Thit, Nway Ko Tu (Pakokku), Aung Soe Oo, May Zune Aye, and Ma Aye Phwint.
Hein Latt commented, “Today, everything, including paper, is so expensive that many writers are holding back on publishing their work. Despite this, I have managed to produce seven books in just eight months because I want readers to have access to new materials. Five of these books were self-published, while these two were published and distributed nationwide by Khit Publishing House. ‘Myanmar Pyaw Thaw Myanmar Sakar’ aims to highlight contemporary Myanmar slang to prevent it from being misinterpreted as the standard language, and ‘Laukmanya Tiluk’ explores Indian beliefs.”— ASH/TRKM
