Heroin worth over K190 million seized in Nawnghkio

Over K190 million worth of heroin were seized in Nawnghkio Township, Shan State, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
The anti-drug force made inspections on the Kyaunglan Road, Ward (7), Parhat Quarter, Thapyay Yay Village, Nawnghkio Township at 9 am on 9 March.
Kyaw Kyaw Naing (45-year-old) and Htein Lin Soe (alias) Veda (30-year-old) brought 1,316 soap cups of heroin worth over K190 million in two motorcycles weighing 13.16 kilogrammes.
According to the investigation, Maung Htay (50-year-old), who was ordered to carry drugs at 9:30 am, was arrested on a motorcycle in Thapyay Yay village.
At 10 am in the morning, Aung Ko Ko Paing (alias) Aung Ko (32-year-old), Yan Naing Oo (34-year-old) and Thet Naing Oo (33-year-old), involved in drug trafficking near Kyauk Kyan village were also arrested in an AD Van on the Mandalay-Lashio Road, near Kyauk Kyan Village, Nawnghkio Township.
According to the investigation, the confiscated drugs were transported from Shan State (North) to Mandalay Region.
All six are being prosecuted and the suspects are still being investigated, according to the police force. — MNA
