With the high tide yesterday, water from the Yangon River inundated low-lying areas in Dala Township, located on the other side of Yangon.
The water level in the Yangon River began to rise in the afternoon and only receded around 6 pm, according to local authorities in
Dala.
“The water flooded the roads, but no houses were damaged. Since we received information that the high tide will occur today, we have warned people living near the river to be on alert,” said U Aung Kyaw Myo, Arntgyi Ward Administrator of Dala Township.—Naing Lin Kyaw (Translated by Kyaw Zin Lin)
