The Home Affairs Ministry introduced an amendment on 13 December that aligned with the Gambling Law, granting authorities the power to arrest individuals suspected of engaging in public gambling without requiring a warrant.
Any township, ward, village administrator, or police can arrest any suspect involved in public gambling.
Moreover, authorities can search suspected gambling premises with a warrant, accompanied by a minimum of two witnesses and sufficient force. This warrant remains valid for 14 days.
Authorities must record the suspects’ names, evidence, and complaint form to file a case against them. — TWA/NT
