Hong Kong (China) – CLMV Online Investment Forum held

MIFER Union Minister Dr Kan Zaw (C) speaks via a video message to the HKC-CLMV Online Investment Forum yesterday.

Under the economic and technological cooperation programme of the ASEAN-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement (AHKFTA), Hong Kong (China) and the CLMV member countries held the HKC-CLMV Online Investment Forum online yesterday morning under the management of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations. The forum aims to promote economic recovery during the Covid-19 period through investment promotion.
Union Minister of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Kan Zaw, in his video message, said he was glad that Myanmar was able to host the forum. He also expressed his belief that through investment cooperation, ways and means to support regional strategic economic development and promote the participation of CLMV member countries can be identified.
At the forum, investment opportunities in Hong Kong (China), Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Viet Nam were presented through video clips. Officials of investment agencies from respective countries also discussed the implementation processes.
The Director-General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, higher-level officers of the respective ministries, representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat and foreign embassies, officials from investment promotion agencies, local and foreign chambers of commerce and industry teams, and investors attended the forum. — MNA/KZW
