Household food distributed to people in Rakhine State

Government provided five kinds of basic foodstuffs — rice, oil, salt, bean, and onion — for the households with no regular income in some townships in Rakhine State yesterday.
The donation of basic foodstuffs for the households in all 17 townships of Rakhine State began on 10 April, and was completed yesterday.
Hluttaw representatives, township administrators, and wards/village leaders accepted the food aid for the households at the townships’ offices, and delivered them to the people.
There are a total of 261,845 households with no regular income in Rakhine State.
Sittway District has a total of 83,964 households in its four townships. Remaining 20,588 households in Ponnagyun and Pauktaw townships were distributed yesterday.
Kyaukpyu District has a total of 30,148 households in four townships. The people in remaining 1,241 households in An Township received the aid yesterday.
The basic foodstuffs were distributed to 3,050 households in Thandwe Township, and 4,854 households in Taungup Township yesterday.
Each household in all 17 townships was provided with eight pyis of rice (one pyi = 2.56 L), 50 kyatthas of oil (one kyattha = 816.46g), 50 kyatthas of salt, one viss of bean (one viss=1.6 kg), and one viss of onion.—Tin Tun (IPRD) (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
