Hpa-Baung cave in Mon State attracts more visitors

More and more people are visiting Hpa-Baung Cave located in Lamukho Village-tract, Kyaikmaraw Township in Mon State. The cave is home to the fascinating beauty of nature and ancient pagodas, decorated with stalactite and stalagmite inside of it. The cave is situated on the east bank of Attayan River, about an hour walk from the Sabai Cave Bridge. At present, there are 900 small and large Buddha statues and seven pagodas inside the Hpa-Baung cave. Besides, a six-foot-high ancient artwork reclining Buddha Statue covered by gold makes the cave shine in golden colour.
The Hpa-Baung cave was first discovered by a hunter from War Pyan Kone Village around 1,200 years ago. The pagoda festival is held annually on the full moon day of Tagu since after the discovery of ancient pagodas carved in votive tablets and multiple stupas in the cave. — Cho Cho (IPRD (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
