The Myanmar National Human Rights Commission visited Insein Prison in Yangon Region yesterday to ensure that there was no violation of basic human rights.
MNHRC members led by U Kyaw Myint and U Kyaw Soe visited Insein Prison on 8 and 9 July and inspected the prison cells, warehouse, buildings, medical ward, canteen, water tanks, visiting rooms and preparations for COVID-19. They then met with several inmates individually and asked them whether there had been violations of human rights, difficulties in prison visits, access to basic necessities and human rights situation in the prison.
