Humanitarian aid donated by the Republic of Indonesia were provided to villages in Maungtaw yesterday morning in a fair and orderly manner, officials said.
Members of district and township management committees, Hluttaw representatives, clergy, UN organisations, townselders and responsible officials went to the villages to provide the subsidies through seven teams formed at 7am yesterday. “Through seven teams consisting of responsible officials, subsidies — wheat, biscuits, noodles and longyis — were provided to 52 villages of 24 village-tracts in Maungtaw region systematically.
The teams including Hluttaw representatives and townselders of Maungtaw gave subsidies in the presence of local people and religious organisations in the villages,” said U Ye Htut, chairman of the district management committee.
U Nur Husin from Kyetyoepyin village of Maungtaw township said: “All the villagers were very happy to see humanitarian aid supported like this. We will accept further provisions of aid with happiness.”
U Tun Tun Win, village administrator of Phawutchaung said: “As an administrator of the village, I would like to express our thanks on behalf of the both communities for supporting aid in person.”
