The Kawthoung Township Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force seized 300,000 kilogrammes of yellow corn (worth K195.3 million) that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) at the Tawwin Bridge in Kawthoung township on 26 May. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
The unregistered vehicle seizure team of the No 2 Traffic Police branch captured a Toyota Mark II car (approximately K3.5 million) near the Hledan bridge in Kamayut township on 27 May. The action was taken under relevant procedures.
Similarly, the Muse District Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force nabbed two kinds of goods (worth K693,000) including five Tasto chain saw W/O blades that were piled up by the side of the road over the Sinphyu border on 28 May. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
In addition, a combined team confiscated 21 oxen (worth K21 million) without official documents near the BEHS 1 in Zigon township on 28 May. The action was taken under the Animal Health and Development Law.
An on-duty team at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined checkpoint captured 30 JFresh infrared cookers (worth K1.95 million) and 60 Nest generation lady bags (worth K2.1 million) that were not declared in the ID from two vehicles (approximately K4.05 million) heading from Myawady to Yangon. The action was taken under Customs Procedures. Therefore, six arrests (estimated value of K244,543,000) were made on three consecutive days from 26 to 28 May, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
