Illegal food items, equipment, unregistered vehicles seized

Supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, efforts are being made to take effective action against illegal trades under the law in regions and states.
On 25 March, combined teams led by the Kachin State Minister for Natural Resources conducted inspections according to a report. During the inspection, 28 water-pumping motors and equipment used in gold mining (estimated value of K4,450,000), along with illegal gold mining activities, were confiscated along the bank of the Ayeyawady River.
During the inspection at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint in Mon State, an unregistered truck (estimated value of K20,000,000) was confiscated under the Customs Law.
On 28 March, a combined inspection team on duty conducted inspections at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined Checkpoint in Kayin State and seized a vehicle together with two undocumented used diesel generators (estimated value of K66,500,000) under the Customs Law.
In addition, 12 bags (592 kilogrammes) containing what is believed to be metal (estimated value of K5,920,000) were confiscated during a field inspection near Sanlaung village near the Yepu Permanent Checkpoint, and action is taken under the Customs Law.
Similarly, construction materials (estimated value of K49,154,418) were seized in excess of what was stated in the import declaration (ID) at the Myanmar Industrial Port Customs Checkpoint and action is taken under the Customs Law.
Yesterday, an inspection team led by the Myanmar Police Force conducted inspections in Shwebo District and seized a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle and a motorcycle (estimated value of K6,100,000) and action is taken under the Export/Import Law.
Therefore, a total of 11 arrests (estimated value of K166,624,418) were made on 25, 26, 28, and 29 March, the Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee stated.— MNA
