Illegal foodstufffs, cement, chemicals, electronics, and vehicles seized

Under the supervision of the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade in accordance with the law.
Under the instructions of the Chairman of the Anti-Illicit Trade Task Force, combined inspection teams inspected warehouses in Kawthoung Township, Taninthayi Region on 9 June and seized 2,987 bags of cement without payment for customs duties at estimated value of K22.799 million and effective action is being taken in accordance with customs procedures.
Similarly, inspections were carried out at the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Inspection Station under the management of the Customs Department on 10 June.
A port inspection team seized double tapes without import licence at estimated value of K4,931,360 as well.
On 11 June, the Customs Inspection Team seized ceramics, which were not mentioned in the import declaration ID, 65-inch TV and bicycle accessories at estimated value of K16,317,420 and action is being taken in accordance with customs procedures.
Similarly, officials from the 16th-Mile checkpoint under the management of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force conducted patrols in Mandalay Region on 11 June.
Next, 150 cartons of HIIN GUANG beers at approximately K750,000 were seized at milepost No. 16/2 on Mandalay-PyinOoLwin Road, and action is being taken in accordance with customs procedures.
In addition, a combined team led by the Myanmar Police Force conducted inspection under the management of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force in Mon State.
A bag containing white seeds believed to be ammonium nitrate, an illegal control chemical estimated at K19.2 million, was seized and action is being taken with the law.
In addition, an unlicensed TOYOTA Ipsum vehicle estimated at K3.5 million was seized under the management of the Anti-Trafficking Task Force in Sagaing Region on 12 June and action is being taken in accordance with the Import and Export Law.
Therefore, a total of 10 arrests at estimated at K67,497,780, were made on four consecutive days according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.—MNA
