Illegal goods, vehicles seized in various states/regions

Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, illegal trade is effectively prevented and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Combined task forces conducted inspections under the management of the Customs Department on 26 June and seized K638,559,130 worth of illegal goods, including 3,200 galvanized iron pipes from one container of Myanma Port, 126,000-metre long 100 per cent polyester fabric and 127,809 kilogrammes of galvanized iron pipes from Asia World container, 5,000 sets of rechargeable sealed lead acid battery from one container of Thilawa Port, Car spare parts including 30 sets of High Beam LED Lamp, not mentioned in Import Declaration form, at Yangon International Airport.
Similarly, the Bago Region Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force inspected and confiscated illegal goods worth K37,290,000, including 50 fans, 40 sacks of crunch roll chocolate and one Yutong bus near the Shwe Thanlwin checkpoint in Phayagyi Town on 4 July.
Likewise, the combined task forces of Yangon also seized 123 sets of illegal computer accessories, graphic tablets and toys worth K13,070,000 in Ahlon Township on the same day.
Thus, the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee reported nine arrests on 4 July with an estimated value of K688,919,130. — MNA/KZL
