Illegal timber, motorcycle and spare parts seized in Ayeyawady, Bago, Sagaing, Yangon regions

Supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, action is being taken against illegal trades under the law.
On 1 February, a Customs team on duty at MITT Port seized motorcycle spare parts (estimated value of K23,479,800) in excess of the import declaration ID during an inspection, and action is being taken under the Customs Law.
On 3 February, a combined inspection team under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force in Ayeyawady Region inspected Mawlamyinekyun Township according to a report and seized 77.4918 tonnes of illegal timber (estimated value of K70,985,240), and action is being taken under the Forest Law.
Managed by the Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force in Bago Region, combined inspection teams led by the Department of Forest conducted inspections in the forest reserves in Bago and Toungoo Districts and confiscated 30.5492 tonnes of illegal timber (estimated value of K3,909,330) under the Forest Law. An inspection team led by the Myanmar Police Force also seized one motorcycle (Feiling 125) (estimated value of K400,000) and action is being taken under the Import and Export Law.
Therefore, there was a total of six cases (estimated value of K98,774,370) on 1 and 3 February, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA
