Illegal timbers, animal foods, fuel oil, vehicles and motorbikes seized in different townships

Supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law.
On 27 May, a combined inspection team conducted inspections under the management of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force and captured six unregistered motorbikes worth K570,000. The action was taken under the Export/Import law.
Similarly, at the Ayeyawady Bridge checkpoint in Pakokku confiscated 2,300 gallons of illegally-carried fuel oil worth K13,340,000 from a truck (approximately K25 million). Police opened a case file under the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law.
In addition, on 30 May, at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint officials captured Double A brand A4 paper packs worth K36 million that were carried more than the stated in the Import Declaration from a truck heading from Myawady to Yangon. The action was taken under the Customs Law.
On 31 May, the combined inspection on-duty team at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined checkpoint seized animal foods worth K1,110,000 that showed no official documents from a truck and action was taken under the Customs Law.
Moreover, the Forest Department team made inspections and confiscated 5.9728 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K2,763,030 in Yedashe and Ottwin Townships of Toungoo District and action was taken under the Forest Law.
Thus, a total of 13 arrests worth approximately K46,390,530 were made on 27, 29, 30 and 31 May, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee. — MNA
