The action was taken under the Forest Law.
On 25 February, a joint team carried out inspections at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) joint inspection checkpoint under the management of the Karen State Anti-Illegal Trade Special Task Force. A total of 25 Karat toilet commodes (estimated value K2.5 million) which were not declared in the import declaration (ID) were seized from a vehicle heading from Myawaddy to Yangon, and the action was taken under Customs procedures.
Thus, a total of eight arrests with seizures worth approximately K135,382,365 were made on 24 and 25 February, according to the Eradication Illegal Trade Steering Committee. — MNA/CT
