Illegal timbers, industrial materials, consumer goods and vehicles confiscated

The on-duty Customs teams under the supervision of Customs Department confiscated a total of 4,471 kilogrammes of silicone Sealant gasket marker (worth K28,168,560) that was not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) from a container at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint on 4 May and a Sidel brand new blower spare part (worth K1,118,218) that exceeded the 61 days of VPA and an air compressor (worth K2,774,069) without Import Licence from luggage at the Yangon International Airport (Import Desk) and three Roche medical devices worth K234,158,400, 13 kinds of excavator and bulldozer spare parts (worth K28,869,719), including 2,180 kilogrammes of water pipes without Import Licence, nine kinds of goods (worth K432,810), including 10 hydraulic jacks and accessories, and 2,500 Silkline disposable wipes (worth K3.75 million) that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) from four containers at the Myanmar Industrial Port Terminal container checkpoint on 5 May. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On 7 May, the combined teams led by Bago Region Forest Department captured a total of 0.264 tonne of illegal teak, 1.998 tonnes of illegal hardwood and 3.079 tonnes of other illegal timbers worth K1,242,172 in Bago districts. The action was taken under the Forest Law.
Therefore, eight arrests (estimated value of K300,513,948) were made on 4, 5 and 7 May, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
