Chairperson of the Disaster Management Committee Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin and officials inspect places where water entered Loikaw.

According to the Kayah State Government, rescue efforts must be carried out promptly without awaiting further orders or instructions if the water level in Balu Creek in Loikaw Township exceeds the flood stage.
Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin stated on 28 July that flood warnings should be issued in a timely manner, and rescue operations must commence immediately without waiting for further directives.
As of 28 July, the water level in the creek is one foot and four inches below the flood stage, but it is already causing water to flow into some houses in low-lying areas of the city.
Consequently, the Chief Minister has urged relevant departments and committees to form teams to monitor the rising water levels. They should be prepared to respond quickly, set up temporary shelters, and assist if the water level continues to rise. — TWA/TRKM
