Imports of COVID-19 protective equipment, medical supplies continue

The Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, arranging continuous importation on public holidays.
Yesterday, 17 oxygen concentrators from Yangon International Airport and two oxygen plants, 149 empty oxygen cylinders, 15 tonnes of masks and 1,141 oxygen concentrators from seaport were successfully imported.
A total of 60 tonnes of oxygen (liquid) carried by three bowsers, four tonnes of liquid oxygen, 5,191 empty oxygen cylinders, seven oxygen plants, 2,265 home oxygen concentrators, 1,000 sets of PPE suits, and 69 tonnes of masks were also imported via Muse, Myawaddy, Chinshwehaw, Kampaiti, Hteekhee, Tachilek and Kawthoung trading posts.

Three lorries carrying liquid oxygen led to Yangon, and four oxygen plants to Myitkyina, two oxygen plants to Yangon and one oxygen plant to Kungyangon Gone Township, respectively.
It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, facilitating the importation of essential medical supplies required in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, as well as contact persons for inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website — www.commerce.gov.mm. — MNA
