The handover event to present one million doses of Covaxin donated by India to Myanmar in progress.

The handover ceremony to deliver 1 million doses of COVAXIN donated by the Government of India to Myanmar was held. on 22 December 2021 at the VIP Lounge of Nay Pyi Taw International Airport. At the ceremony, Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Foreign Secretary of India, handed over COVID-19 vaccines to U Myint Tun Han, representative of the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of International Cooperation, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. The Indian Foreign Secretary was accompanied by Shri Saurabh Kumar, Ambassador of India to Myanmar and responsible officials from India.
It is learnt that consignment of donated vaccines will be transported by air in batches. The first batch arrived at the Yangon International Airport on 22 December 2021 by the relief flight of Myanmar National Airlines.—MNA
