Indian National Defence College delegation visits Myanmar for study tour

A delegation from India’s National Defence College, led by Senior Directing Staff Major General Ajay Kumar Singh, AVSM, SM, arrived in Myanmar on 1 September for a study tour.
During their visit, the delegation explored several prominent sites in Myanmar, including the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, the Bogyoke Aung San Market, and the Memorial to the Fallen Heroes (Nay Pyi Taw). They also visited the Defence Services Museum and the Myanmar Gems Museum, both located in the city.
On the morning of 3 September, the delegation visited the National Defence College, where they received a detailed briefing on the college’s history from officials. Following this, the group toured the college’s library and museum, with officials providing further insights.
Additionally, the delegation visited some of the world’s most revered Buddhist statues, including the highly magnificent Maravijaya Buddha statue. They also made offerings and signed the visitor’s book at the Uppatasanti Pagoda.
The delegation from the National Defence College returned to India via flight from Yangon International Airport yesterday morning. — MNA/KZL
