A ground breaking ceremony to build a religious building by Inn ethnic people from Inle lake was held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Present at the ceremony held at the site chose for the building near the Uppatasanti Pagoda were Members of the Sangha from monasteries in Inle, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win, senior military officers, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, donors and guests.
First, Vice-Senior General Soe Win and donors presented objects to be used at the ceremony to the Members of the Sangha.
Vice-Senior General Soe Win presented K10 million donated by families of the Tatmadaw to the chairman of the construction committee and donors also presented K98 million contributed to the construction of the building to Vice-Senior General Soe Win.
At the ceremony, Vice Senior General Soe Win and donors laid bricks specially decorated with precious stones, according to the news released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services. — MNA
