Interfaith Friendship Organization (central) donates food on Thingyan occasion

The Opening Ceremony of the 1383 ME Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival and the Food Donation Ceremony hosted by the Interfaith Friendship Organization (Central) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was held yesterday morning at the west parking lot of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon.
The ceremony was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Yangon Region Government Ministers, Chairman, Deputy Chairmen and officials of the Myanmar Interfaith Organization and families.
The Thingyan Festival was opened by the Chief Minister, the Chairman of the Organization, Deputy Chairman U Zaw Zaw Naing (Hindu), Deputy Chairman U Aung Zaw Win (Muslim), and Joint Secretary Daw Khin Khin May (Christian) by cutting the ribbon.
Afterwards, the chief minister and party splashed the water with Thabyay leaves on the attendees. Vegetable biryani, Shwe Yin Aye, and purified drinking water were donated at the Food Donation Ceremony.
It is reported that the organization will donate pea butter rice, Shwe Yin Aye and purified water will be donated at 15 April; Biryani, Shwe Yin Aye and distilled water on 16 April; and Mohinga, Shwe Yin Aye, and water on 17 April. — Ko Ko Zaw, Kyaw Soe Win/GNLM
