International travellers arrive on MAI airlines via commercial flights

International flights were reopened at Yangon International Airport on 17 April, with international flights arriving by MAI on commercial flights.
Yangon-Kuala Lumpur-Yangon MAI operates the relief flights twice a week. In turn, commercial flights from Yangon to Incheon (Korea), Guangzhou (China), Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, and Kolkata and New Delhi (India) are operating daily.
“Since the reopening of the international airline, the airline has been operating smoothly due to a large number of tourists, said Captain Kyaw Soe Hla, Chief Operating Officer of MAI Airlines.
“Travellers are also comfortable. Currently, there are a lot of tourists. International travel will increase if people no longer have to worry about COVID-19. And if overnight quarantine access is relaxed, the tourism sector will accelerate.
“In some countries, quarantine programmes are no longer available, leading to increased tourists.
“MAI is providing services for the well-being and safety of tourists to facilitate the traffic connection and the revitalization of Myanma Airlines,” Captain Kyaw Soe Hla added.
After the reopening of Myanmar’s international airlines this month, many Myanmar nationals who had been working abroad and returning to their homeland had arrived, and international travellers were arriving at Yangon International Airport on MAI Airlines’ commercial flights. — Nyein Thu (MNA)/ GNLM
