The museum is open between 9 am and 4:30 pm every day except the public holidays and Monday for the visitors with free admission.

The models of Myanmar’s most famous old capital Inwa are showcased at the Inwa museum in TadaU Township, Mandalay Region, in a bid to locate the ancient imperial capital of Myanmar’s kingdoms and provide the data of cultural heritages for the visitors, said Daw Khin Swe Win, an officer of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum (Inwa and Pinya archaeological zone).
The museum was opened in April 2003. It exhibits five display rooms for models of Inwa city, Buddha statues and scriptures, photos of ancient buildings, the gallery for cultural heritage, handicrafts and personal belongings of ancient people, arts and architecture. The arts and architecture of old cities like Inwa, Amarapura, Konbaung and Yadanabon and Bagan are showcased, with a total of 409 items.
“The local travellers and tourists like to visit Inwa cultural heritage zone. However, the Inwa museum is less famous. So, I like to invite them to visit the museum. It is easier to look around the Inwa area after observing the models,” she said.
The museum is open between 9 am and 4:30 pm every day except the public holidays and Monday for the visitors with free admission.
During the 2019-2020 financial year, Inwa Museum was renovated with a budget of K20 million. Furthermore, the department will spend more than K17 million on the maintenance facilities such as roof repair and electrical work in the current 2020-2021 budget year. — Min Htet Aung (Mandalay Sub-Printing House)/GNLM
