Japan Foundation Yangon invites to participate in 25th Japanese Speaking Contest

The 25th Japanese Language Speaking Contest will be held on 9 November 2024 and those interested can participate, according to the Japan Foundation, Yangon.

It will be held on 9 November (Saturday) from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Applicants must be Myanmar citizens living in Myanmar between the ages of 16 and 30, excluding Japanese teachers (except partime teachers and volunteers) and those who were winners in previous contests.

Application period is from 16 September 2024 (Monday) at 9:00 am to 1 October (Tuesday) at 4:00 pm. Applications can be filled out and submitted in the designated Google Form. In the preliminary selection, the contestant must speak as the same as the competition. There will be a question and answer session in Japanese for selection. After checking speech (Word file and audio file), applicants who meet the criteria will be allowed to compete in the preliminary selection.

On 12 – 13 October (Saturday and Sunday), the contestants will be contacted directly for details about the preliminary selection, and the results will be informed to the contestants and announced on the Facebook page of the respective organizers.

Selected candidates from the preliminary stage will compete on 9 November 2024 and the winners will be given valuable gifts, said the foundation. The first winner can represent Myanmar in the International Japanese Speaking Competition to be held in Japan together with the winners from other ASEAN countries.
