JICA to loan K1.5 bln for farmers to purchase Agri equipment

A total of K1.5 billion will be earmarked and lent to farmers in 23 townships in Mandalay Region this financial year via a JICA (Two-Step Loan) to purchase and use agricultural implements, according to the Myanma Agricultural Development Bank Branch in Mandalay Region.
A K70 million loan will be disbursed to each farmer at a cheaper interest rate this financial year to buy and use various types of farming machines and other agricultural equipment.
The government has further informed that K89.96 billion will also be loaned this year to farmers who have paid back the loan which was lent in 2022. — TWA/MKKS
