K1.1 billion worth of heroin impounded in Mandalay

Forty-four kilogrammes of heroin worth K1.1 billion were seized in the PyinOoLwin township of Mandalay Region, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
The combined team consisting of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched a six-wheel Canter vehicle driven by Tun Naing Oo (aka) Tun Naing accompanied by Hla Myint near Aungchantha village on the PyinOoLwin-Mandalay Road, PyinOoLwin township in Mandalay Region at 1 pm on 22 September. Officials found 44 kilogrammes of heroin worth K1.1 billion and as an interrogation result, the team found Ma Khin Aye Wine (aka) Khin Wine who accompanied in the delivery of heroin at Aungchantha village in PyinOoLwin township at 2 pm. According to the examination, stockpiled heroin will be carried from Shan State (North) to Mandalay Region and they are prosecuted under respective laws and perpetrators of the crime chain are being investigated and identified, it is learnt. — MNA
