The photo taken on 27 August shows posters being erected to raise awareness of Mpox.

According to the Health Department of Kyaikto Township, posters have been put up at the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda to raise awareness about Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox).
Additionally, a talk was held to inform those responsible for the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda about important information regarding Mpox.
As Mpox has been detected in countries neighbouring Myanmar, there is an urgent need for caution. The Ministry of Health has advised the public not to believe false information and assured that any confirmed cases of Mpox in Myanmar will be officially announced.
In 2023, nearly 300,000 local and foreign pilgrims visited the Kyaiktiyo area, where the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda is located, according to the Pagoda Board of Trustees. — TWA/MKKS
