As the matriculation exam is approaching, Maha Shwetheindaw Pagoda in Kyaukse Township of Mandalay Region is crowded with students, pilgrims and prayers.
The Sutaungpyae Maha Shwetheindaw Pagoda is located in Thintaung Village north of Kyaukse near the Yangon-Mandalay Highway. Although Maha Shwetheindaw Pagoda is crowded with pilgrims regularly, days before the matriculation exam are more crowded with students and prayers to make vows and prayers with baskets of green bananas and coconut.
“There is special parking for motorbikes and vehicles for pilgrims. Security guards are available to call for help if needed,” said U Kyaw Swe, chairman of the Shwetheindaw Pagoda board of trustees.
The Maha Shwetheindaw Pagoda is a famous pagoda full of prayers for socio-economic development by making vows and prayers with baskets of green bananas and coconut.
A student from the Myitta Private High School in Kyaukse said that she is ready for the exam and she has come to pray for having a smooth and successful exam. —Thet Maung (Kyaukse)/GNLM
