Labutta Children’s Literary Festival concludes successfully

The Labutta edition of the Children’s Literary Festival was bustling with crowds of people during its last day yesterday.
The 2-day festival was jointly organized by the Ayeyawady Region government, Information and Public Relations Department, Basic Education Department, and Township Management Committee.
Of particular interest were the various sports competitions which involved students striking coconuts, picking up potatoes, balancing bamboo trays on their heads, sack racing, and hula hooping.
The closing ceremony of the festival, book fair and book sale was held at Ayeyawady Hall of B.E.H.S. 2 Labutta at 2 pm Ayeyawady Region Hluttaw representative U Tun Hla and Labutta District Interim Administrator U Kyaw Htin delivered addresses and conferred rewards on children who won the poetry recital, ad-lib speaking and story-telling competitions.
Over 20,000 students from 82 wards and village-tracts within the township of Labutta visited the festival on both days with 47 students winning first, second and third places in all of its numerous competitions.—District IPRD (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
