Launching ceremony of Mekong-Lancang cooperation special-fund projects 2022, seminar on Solar Photovoltaic held

The seminar on the use of solar photovoltaic technology – one of the processes of the project “Establishment of Myanmar National-level Solar PV Application Promotion and Training Centre to accelerate the capacity building of development of solar energy in Myanmar” – was held at the Mingala Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The project will be implemented by the Department of Research and Innovation under the Ministry of Science and Technology with Mekong-Lancang cooperation special-fund projects (2022).
Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw gave an opening speech on the occasion. Minister Counselor Dr Zheng Zhigong of the Chinese embassy to Myanmar and Deputy Director-General U Win Zaya Tun also gave speeches.
The Union Minister said that the Department of Research and Innovation had the chance to implement three Mekong-Lancang cooperation special fund projects and that the establishment of Myanmar National-Level Solar PV Application Promotion and Training Centre to Accelerate the capacity building of Development of Solar Energy in Myanmar was one of the three projects.
Afterwards, the director-general of the Department of Research and Innovation, professors of Inner Mongolia University of Technology in China and experts from related departments discussed solar photovoltaic technology at the seminar. — MNA/KZW
