The Leading Organizing Committee on Variety Show for Diamond Jubilee Independence Day 2023 held its second coordination meeting in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
It was attended by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, in his capacity as the Committee Chairman, Vice-Chair 1 of the committee Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Vice-Chair 2 Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin, Working Committee Chairpersons Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, Deputy Minister Dr Moe Zaw Tun, Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Myint Soe, the permanent secretaries and departmental heads, and the chairpersons of Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, Myanmar Music Association (Central) and the secretary of Myanmar Theatric Association joined the meeting online.
First, the Union minister said the detailed procedures, the logo and the theme song of the show and the motions of the artistes from film, music and theatrical fields will be approved during the meeting.
The variety show for the 75th anniversary of Independence Day should be a successful event as it is full of essence and held once in a lifetime and the people should get something on their mind regarding the essence of independence. There should be creative performance rather than the normal ways to accelerate the national spirit for the interest of the country.
Then, the vice-chair 1 of the committee reported on the proper cooperation of the department and the readiness of the performers.
The vice-chair 2 of the committee also presented the preparations for open-air theatre.
Deputy Minister U Ye Tint then explained the arrangements and ongoing work plans for the variety show.
Next, the attendees coordinated the discussion and the Union Minister concluded the meeting.
The five-day variety show marking the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day will be held at the open-air theatre of Nay Pyi Taw City Hall.
The artistes from film, music and theatrical fields will perform under the leadership of the Ministry of Information on 26, 27 and 28 November while the artistes under the Directorate of the Public Relations and Psychological Warfare on 29 November and performers under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture on 30 November. — MNA
