The Leading Organizing Committee on Variety Show for Diamond Jubilee Independence Day 2023 held its third coordination meeting in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
It was attended by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, in his capacity as the Committee Chairman, Vice-Chairman of Committee Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin, Working Committee Chairpersons Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, Deputy Minister Dr Moe Zaw Tun, Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Myint Soe, the permanent secretaries and departmental heads, and officials of Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, Myanmar Music Association, Myanmar Theatrical Association and Myanmar Comedians Association joined the meeting online.
First, the Union minister said arrangements are underway to organize the State-level variety show marking the 75th Anniversary of Independence Day in order to please the people and understand the essence of independence. It is also the very first grand show to entertain the people being suffocated during the COVID-19 pandemic. The government employees and artistes should participate in this operation for the country and people and should report the necessary things, he added.
Then, the committee vice-chairman and working committee chairman discussed the procedures of the variety show and attendees coordinated the discussion.
The five-day variety show from 26 to 30 November marking Diamond Jubilee Independence Day will be held at the open-air theatre of Nay Pyi Taw City Hall.
The artistes from film, music and theatrical fields will perform under the leadership of the Ministry of Information on 26, 27 and 28 November while the artistes under the Directorate of the Public Relations and Psychological Warfare on 29 November and performers under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture on 30 November. — MNA
