Library opening improves local access to learning resources

Untitled-2Myanaung, 2 March — A new library has opened in Nyaungtay Village in Myanaung Township, Ayeyawady Region.
The Lunge Ahman Library officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sunday attended by Head of Information Department of Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation Daw Soe Wut Yi, wife of Union Minister for Rail Transportation U Than Htay, Ayeyawady Region Minister for Development Affairs U Kyaw Win Naing and library committee chairman U Than Soe cut the ribbon to open the library.
The head of department and the region minister donated books and publications and K100,000 each, while the Head of Township Information and Public Relations Department Daw Sanda Waing also donated books to the library.
Head of department Daw Soe Wutyi also donated K100,000 each to Thabyegon Village-tract WAO and Maternal and Child Welfare Association and 25 dozens of notebooks to Basic Education Middle School Branch in Nyaungtay Village.
Myanmar Libraries Foundation and local people funded over K4 million for construction of the library.—Win Bo (Myanaung IPRD)
