Local farmers to compete cultivation of Palethwe paddy for boosting production

Nyaungshwe, 27 Jan — The systematic nurturing of paddy was carried out in ThaleU village-tract in Nyaungshwe Township, Shan State, on 26 January.
Head of Township Agriculture Department U Zaw Win Tun explained use of good agricultural patterns for boosting production of Palethwe hybrid paddy to yield over 200 baskets of paddy per acre. Staff of the department demonstrated systematic nurturing of Palethwe paddy in summer.
In 2014-15, competitive cultivation of Palethwe hybrid paddy to produce over 200 baskets per acre will be held on 10 acres of farmland in ThaleU Village, with participation of five farmers.—Nay Myo Thurein
