The yield of long staple cotton, grown on 50 acres at the agriculture service centre in Kantaung Village, Meiktila Township, has reached 750 viss (a viss equals 1.6 kg) per acre.
“The Township Agriculture Department is currently distributing seeds of long staple cotton with the aim to increase the acreage in the special zone. Moreover, officials from the department have conducted inspections to check data registration, cooperation in pest control, and compliance with guidelines on pesticides.
